I can’t believe summer is almost over and we are getting ready for pre-school again! Madeleine is going on her third year of school but for Eloise it’s a first. We’ve spent a lot of the summer talking about school, working on our listening and hoping for the best. Ha!
I’ve started working some of the school basics into our everyday life. I feel like this has really helped her get an idea of what her schedule is going to be like during school. We started by adjusting our meal times and having set snacks. This made a HUGE difference when it came to playing/nap time. The second thing we’ve been working on is sharing. I know this concept is nearly impossible for toddlers to understand but I feel like giving her the basics will help in the long run. She’s been so much better when it comes to asking for a toy and saying “Thank You”. So much better than screaming!
And the best thing we’ve done? Back to school shopping. The girls absolutely LOVED picking out their lunch boxes, back packs and new outfits. I can’t say I blame them, that was always my favorite thing to do too. Eloise got the cutest pair of Freshly Picked Mary Janes to go with her first day of school outfit. I’ve been dying to get her a pair of these for sooo long, and now I have about five more in my cart. They seriously look so damn cute with every fall outfit we have. Beyond obsessed!
I really wanted to recreate the outfit Madeleine wore on her first day of school (which included her gold moccasins) but Eloise picked out the cutest dress and obviously I couldn’t say no. Looking back at pictures and going through those special outfits made me realize that the girls have worn their Freshly Picked moccs for almost every first. First shoes, first steps and first day of school! So many amazing memories in these tiny shoes.
Since we’re celebrating back to school over here- I’m giving away one pair of moccasins over my on my Instagram! Head here to check it out.
