Happy Fall everyone! For the most part it still feels like summer around here but we’ve had a few cooler days sneak in. Hopefully we keep heading in that direction because my body needs it! I cannot wait to start dressing this bump for fall! Luckily this weekend cooled down a bit and we got a chance to head out early, grab some coffee and explore the city.
During my pregnancy with Madeleine I lived in bodycon dresses, especially since it was such a hot summer! I was working at a bakery and just wanted to be comfortable. When I was pregnant with Eloise, it was all about being functional. Simple tees & jeans. After all I was running after a toddler all day! I don’t think I ever really embraced maternity style. I would always see mamas in the cutest outfits but never really put much effort into dressing myself. That was definitely something I wanted to change this time around!
Something I’ve realized lately is how impossible it can be to find maternity clothes in store! I feel like almost every retailer has moved their inventory online, which means shopping at multiple stores just to find everything you want. I recently had the chance to work with Figure8 Maternity and they made shopping so simple for me. If you haven’t heard of them and you’re expecting- check out their site! They’re basically a one stop shop for everything you need, which is EXACTLY what someone like me wants.
I picked out this amazing & soft hooded sweatshirt from Kimi & Kai Maternity and I feel like I could live in it. I love how soft it is and that it’s long enough to wear with leggings but not too long that it looks weird with jeans. The hood is also super roomy which makes this perfect for snuggling up on those super cool fall days. I’m such a sucker for a good hoodie so finding a maternity one that I absolutely love was a game changer for me.
I also grabbed a pair of Blanqi Maternity Leggings – they are total LOVE. High waisted, supportive and super comfy- all of the things you want and need in maternity pants. They also carry the Nursing Support leggings which I wore all winter when Eloise was still breastfeeding. Both leggings come up to my bra line which not only makes it great for nursing but it’s also nice for smoothing things out and helping you feel supported. I feel like these will be amazing after my c-section this time around!
A few other must haves this time around? Cute accessories, slip on shoes (because this belly is not playing around!!) and a comfy backpack style bag. All of which I’ll be talking about in my next post! So stay tuned!
