I cannot begin to tell you how long I have been waiting for a weekend like this! The weather here in Kansas City has been more Summer than Fall, so we haven’t done much fall decorating yet. Add the fact that we’ve had a solid month of some sort of sickness and well, no fun happening here! But when we woke up Sunday morning (fever free!) I knew exactly where we were heading. The Pumpkin Patch!
A few of my co-workers had been telling me about Louisburg Cider Mill for months. It’s about 45 minutes from our house but the drive seemed like a lot less. I was so excited to try their cider donuts and check out the Country Store! The girls were most excited about all of the slides and the giant corn pit. Not gonna lie- I was a little hesitant about that one at first. But there was no way I could say no as dad was removing their shoes AND socks. Fun dad always wins. Right?
We jumped from attraction to attraction, shed a few tears over missing the first tractor rides, played with pumpkin guts (well Eloise did) & enjoyed some of the best cider slushies ever. They were magical!
Lately I feel like trying to find a good balance between working full time, taking care of the girls and handling a somewhat difficult pregnancy. Jeremy works during the day and I work evenings. He works Monday-Friday and I work hospitality hours. We tend to get so frustrated when sickness takes over because we don’t have a ton of time together.
I didn’t think to make a Fall Bucket List but I fully plan on making one for the Holiday season. I really want to make the next few months special for the girls since the new year will bring A LOT of changes.
So tell me- what are your favorite things to do during the holiday season? I need all of the ideas!
